Incapable Of Learning

Donald Trump, March 6, 2020:
I like the numbers being where they are. I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault.
Donald Trump, May 6, 2020:
In a way, by doing all this testing we make ourselves look bad.
Two quotes, uttered exactly two months apart, the exact same mindset.
USA CASES DEATHS
Mar 6 331 12
May 6 1,266,948 74,841
The number of deaths will become public no matter what. You'd think Trump, looking ahead to November, might be able to take a longer view of the situation, rather than pretending it doesn't exist, since ignoring it is what caused this monumental disaster in the first place.

Trump doesn't learn. He can't learn. It is not possible. He does the wrong thing in every situation time after time after time. Trump's mental state has deteriorated to the point where he blurts out things in public like this:
The testing and the masks and all of the things, we've solved every problem. We solved it quickly.
That's a quote from May 1. He believes what he says is true. That's one reason he's abandoning the problem. He knows every problem has been solved. ... Also, he's bored.
