Newsmax just aired this note to "clarify" its coverage of Smartmatic and Dominion. pic.twitter.com/I5XZ7CQpAk

Newsmax's Chris Ruddy tells me that the statement that's making the rounds will be aired on ALL Newsmax TV shows. This began over the weekend and will continue today.

Lou Dobbs of Fox News was sent a letter from Smartmatic and had to retract on TV his claims about election fraud. Seems like Newmax got a similar letter! This is what competent lawyering can achieve. If only Fox News could be sued out of existence. https://t.co/VUIN0vh8pP

Trump's allies on Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN are running for the hills—airing massive disclaimers saying they have no evidence supporting anything Trump and his allies have been saying. Mostly these disclaimers don't come from the on-air talent—the *cowards*—who spread the lies. https://t.co/0VGAMTwkFv

They know they’re in serious trouble and are facing litigation that can bankrupt them.

The below example is from Fox News but can be used to extrapolate the jeopardy facing other outlets that are deliberately pushing disinformation/.https://t.co/qqYnQC4Nt3
Based on what I read in a recent WaPo article, the Smartmatic lawsuit threat has such sharp teeth, Newsmax knows their fledgling network could be buried alive in its infancy. https://t.co/Jj5Z0Xzhmh

Voting machine companies are threatening “highly dangerous” defamation lawsuits against Fox, Newsmax and OAN for circulating unsubstantiated voter fraud conspiracy theories involving their products, media columnist @benyt writes. https://t.co/YNTCyjns3U

A retraction could mitigate damages, but if the damages is done, I don’t see why Smartmatic and Dominion couldn’t still win substantial damages (if proven). You can’t just wash your hands of all the damage you’ve done by retracting and apologizing. That’s not how it works.

Following reports that Trump wants to declare martial law and appoint Sidney Powell as special counsel to seize the voting machines, Peter Navarro went on Maria Bartiromo — and said the Georgia runoffs should be postponed, and a special counsel appointed to seize voting machines. pic.twitter.com/PE7UvC8QIg

Four people briefed on events said Sidney Powell was back at the White House again today, for third time in four days.

Confirming what @JDiamond1 saw, that Sidney Powell was back in the White House tonight. She was once again pitching an executive order on seizing voting machines to examine them, per a person with knowledge of the meeting. Unclear if POTUS is planning to go along with it.
