WHO: Sunday Was Largest Single-Day Increase In Global Virus Cases Since Pandemic Began (US & Brazil Account For Half Of 183,020 New Infections)

The previous record for new cases (181,232) was set last Thursday, June 18.

10 states (Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas) saw record-high seven-day averages of new COVID-19 cases this week.

23 states are seeing an upward trend in new cases.

Despite the rising number of cases, Donald Trump has minimized risks - and lied last Wednesday when he said the virus is "dying out".

There have been more than 8.7 million cases worldwide and nearly half a million deaths (461,000).
