Meanwhile, In Canada . . .

Canadians often judge the quality of their society by how it compares to what they know about the United States. That yardstick has been an extremely low bar for decades. Right now, it's subterranean.

When a police officer's sole option to resolving a standoff with a young woman is killing her with FIVE BULLETS to the chest, that person must be immediately forced to find another job, something to do where panicking doesn't result in leaving a five-year-old child without a mother.

And why the fuck are police officers being sent to do a 2:30 am "wellness" check? The ever-growing mountain of evidence indicates that whatever training cops receive in dealing with someone who might be stressed, anxious, terrified, or has mental health issues, is pure shit.
Chantel Moore, 26, of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, was born and raised on Vancouver Island. She had recently moved to New Brunswick to be closer to her young child, who was living with Moore's mother.

Edmundston Police Force Insp. Steve Robinson said he didn't believe the officer tried using non-lethal force.
At first the officer went on scene, and all of a sudden the person just exited the apartment with a knife and was attacking the officer. He had no choice but to defend himself.
By shooting her five times in the chest.

"He had no choice".

No other option existed.
