Drunk Steals Plane, Flies Around NYC Area Unnoticed For 5 Hours

From today's New York Post:
In a jaw-dropping breach of post-9/11 aviation security, a drunken student pilot stole a single-engine Cessna 172 from the airport in Danbury, Conn., and flew around the metropolitan area with two pals unnoticed for five hours early yesterday, authorities said.

When the plane, short of fuel, landed safely at 4:10 a.m. on a taxiway at the Westchester County Airport, "a significant number of beer cans" clattered to the ground, said County Executive Andrew Spano. ... Patricio's blood-alcohol level was allegedly 0.15 percent. ...

Patricio wanted to fly to New Haven, but got lost, said authorities. The Federal Aviation Administration has no record of where Patricio flew, an agency spokesman said.
