When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total. And that's the way it's gotta be. It's total. ... The president of the United States calls the shots ... [The states] cannot do anything without the approval of the president. ... I have an absolute right. ... The federal government has absolute power.Donald Trump stated on Monday evening that he is a dictator and the United States is his dictatorship.
Trump claimed the US Constitution has "numerous provisions" which give him absolute power. He was unable to name even one of these numerous provisions, however. When pressed to say who told him he has absolute power, Trump cut off the reporter and snapped: "Enough!"
Trump also:
refused to admit he had made even one mistake during this entire coronavirus crisis
played a series of doctored video clips making it look like the media downplayed the crisis [some of the video was taken directly from March 26's episode of Hannity (Fox News)]
played a series of videos of state governors saying how great he is [the US death toll passed 24,000 today]
claimed: "Nobody is asking for ventilators"
claimed: "I saved tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of lives" [If you think 100,000 people will die, but the death toll ends up being 75,000, you have not saved 25,000 lives]
stated he was unable to replenish the national stockpile of ventilators and masks during his first three years in office because "Obama"
