This disdain of intelligence is nothing new, but I don't think it has ever been so publicly and proudly proclaimed by elected officials as it is now. It's equally frightening and breathtaking hearing people "in charge" insist that downplaying a deadly virus and placing trust in grossly ignorant people who favor prayer over science and have no clue what they are doing is the best course of action.
