The Daily Beast talked to 12 women wrapped up in this sex ring that Joel Greenberg says he and Matt Gaetz were involved in. Some women say they felt pressured to have sex and take drugs. They all were paid.https://t.co/DPjCIwjPZk
Could we stop using the term “wingman” to describe a human trafficking co-conspirator? Kthanx

“I wasn’t really in a position to say I didn’t want to do this. I wasn’t in my right mind. I was in over my head and it was kind of scary.” #GaetzGate https://t.co/2y00qvMq6F

Matt Gaetz casted a vote yesterday to remove Liz Cheney from her leadership role, while Joel Greenburg is casting a guilty plea implicating both him and Gaetz in the rape and sexual assault of children.

The GOP ousted a woman telling the truth over a guy who raped children.
"Ten women told The Daily Beast they felt pressure at one time or another to drink or take drugs as an entree to sex. And all 12 said Greenberg encouraged them to invite friends, either for himself or men he knew."

"Some women described platonic encounters where they still got paid. Others relayed that they had consensual sex for money. But some characterized their experiences as a trauma, and four women said Greenberg pressured them them to have sex—"

"Another woman recalled that when Greenberg found out she had faked taking ecstasy, he aggressively insisted she take it. “I immediately left right after and was sick on the way home,” she said."
— Elizabeth C. McLaughlin (she/her) (@ECMcLaughlin) May 12, 2021
"One woman said she sought therapy to heal from the encounters, and another, upon describing her experience, said she planned to seek therapy. Several women grew silent describing their experiences. Three cried during interviews."
— Elizabeth C. McLaughlin (she/her) (@ECMcLaughlin) May 12, 2021
"Alcohol and drugs were a common thread among the women, specifically MDMA. One woman told The Daily Beast she had “never seen so many drugs.” And several noted that Greenberg regularly took ecstasy during the encounters."

"The woman was listed as a friend of Gaetz on Venmo, but that connection ended after the reporter contacted her, as did Gaetz’s friendships with several other women on the mobile payment platform."
— Elizabeth C. McLaughlin (she/her) (@ECMcLaughlin) May 12, 2021
"One other woman did say Greenberg told her the congressman was among about 10 other men at a house party she briefly attended in April 2017. She said she left early because the situation at the house made her uncomfortable."

"“He told us in detail he would go into the DMV, take old IDs people turn in, and just take them and give them to people like us, his victims, as a way to have sex with him,” she said. “He made that very clear, and he made that clear when we didn’t want to have sex with him.""

"[One] recalled that Greenberg paid for expensive dinners and bumped her flights up to first class. The affair ended, she said, after an alcohol- and drug-fueled party with several men and young women at a house belonging to a couple that is friends with Greenberg and Gaetz."

OK, so: let me make some observations.
— Elizabeth C. McLaughlin (she/her) (@ECMcLaughlin) May 12, 2021
At least one of these described encounters meets the definition of rape.
Greenberg said in his confession to Stone that he had personally seen Gaetz having sex with the teenaged girl.
This article makes it a safe assumption that Gaetz was engaged in group sex with teenage/college-age girls with Greenberg and others, in circumstances where those girls were plied with drugs to get them to consent.

There is little doubt based on this that the claims of sex trafficking will stick.

The trip to the Bahamas in particular continues to be of great concern.
And please, let's remember the victims here. Weeping, traumatized teenagers, used for group sex by men who threatened them.
I guess one Congressman's word is worth more than that of 12 women. Of course, 26 women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct, and they have been deemed liars as he remains free of any criminal prosecution.
