Georgia

"Georgia has been a great example
of a state that has ... done really well with the virus."

As Florida's Ron DeSantis was getting all the ink as the most batshit-insane-moron state governor in the United States, Brian Kemp was obviously getting jealous over in Georgia.

And so Kemp filed a lawsuit against Atlanta's mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms because of her decision "to require masks and revert the city to the most restrictive reopening phase", according to the New York Times. Kemp said Bottoms's "disastrous policies threaten the lives and livelihood of our citizens". And she won't allow Kemp to kill thousands of people. (Friggin' libs always trying to control people's actions!)

Bottoms states she is simply following the recommendations of public health experts, a fact confirmed by a White House Coronavirus Task Force report explicitly recommending that Georgia "mandate statewide wearing of cloth face coverings outside the home".

Virus cases in Georgia are higher than ever, with an average of 3,100+ new cases every day. As of this evening, Georgia has had 124,267 cases and 3,071 deaths.

If Georgia were a country, it would rank 20th in most cases, more than Canada, which would be 22nd. For comparison's sake, Canada has ten times the population of Georgia (37.7 million versus 3.7 million).
